General Walking: Privacy Walks

Outside the disciplines of teaching hill and moorland navigation we welcome walkers who simply wish to get away from it all but do not have the confidence to leave the main paths. To this end we can host escorted day walks in the Dark Peak for single ladies or gentlemen or small groups up to six people. Please contact Glossop Navigation Skills for further information and details.

Guided Walks

We host Guided day walks such as the crash site of the USAF B29 bomber on Bleaklow, for example. Due to its location this is a 'weather permitting' walk. We have a choice of three or four routes: one from the A57 Snake Pass/Pennine Way (moderate) the other three routes are more demanding and longer. They start and end at the Commercial Inn in Glossop. Please contact Glossop Navigation Skills for further details.

We also host circular day walks linking up the main and lesser known footpaths around the upper and lower slopes of the Dark Peak. We try to incorporate items of historical interest into all our walks e.g. former quarries, dry stone walling, water engineering, the enclosure of the land, wayside relics, mule routes, etc.
